As the school year ends and the temperature rises, many parents and caregivers are sending their kids to sleep away camp. Many sleep away camps start after the 4th of July and I'm sure that several parents and kids are trying to balance what they want to bring and what will actually fit in their suitcase! If this is your child's first time away at summer camp they-and you-may be experiencing a number of emotions. Excitement, anticipation, worry. While many kids are ready to be away from their caregivers for a few weeks, others have a more difficult time with the transition. This short article offers a few proactive tips to utilize before your child or adolescent leaves for the woods for a few weeks. Even if you think your child or adolescent will have an easy transition, it doesn't hurt to try some of these things beforehand.
