Treatment/Service Modalities
Individual Therapy
Individuals meet with Dr. Sweeney one-on-one to address a variety of concerns. Individuals typically meet with Dr. Sweeney every week or every other week.
Family Therapy
Family members meet with Dr. Sweeney to improve communication in order to create a more cohesive family structure. These sessions typically take place every week or every other week.
Group Therapy
Children or adolescents meet in a group format in order to improve a variety of skills. Please contact Dr. Sweeney for group schedule and availability.
Behavioral Support and Consultation
This is an option for families and individuals who want some guidance with how to deal with acute or ongoing behavioral challenges. This can include regular face-to-face or phone meetings with parents, creation of a behavior plan, consultation with schools or other caregivers, or whatever the family or individual needs in order to create and sustain behavior change.
Educational Support and Consultation
As a school psychologist, Dr. Sweeney has extensive experience with and knowledge about the educational system. Whether you need support navigating the special education process, help with developing appropriate accommodations, or someone to 'translate' educational lingo, Dr. Sweeney can provide that support. With parent, and when necessary student, permission, Dr. Sweeney is happy to consult with school staff, conduct school/daycare visits, and write up recommendations.
Admissions Testing
Dr. Sweeney or Dr. Featherson will administer the Wechsler Preschool and Primary Scale of Intelligence-Fourth Edition (WPPSI-IV) or the Wechsler Intelligence Scale for Children-Fourth or Fifth Edition (WISC-IV or WISC-V) for children applying to independent/private schools. This service includes administration of the test, a comprehensive written report, a feedback session with parents, and the report sent to an unlimited number of schools. An expedited report is available upon request at an additional fee.
Psychological/Psychoeducational Assessment
Dr. Featherson will conduct psychological and psychoeducational evaluations with children as young as 6-years old, adolescents, and adults. This service includes interviews with parents and client, administration of assessments which may occur over the course of 1-3 days, a comprehensive written report, and a feedback session. This evaluation may also include observations or interviews with significant others as requested by the client or determined necessary by Dr. Featherson. There are a number of presenting concerns that would lead someone to seek an evaluation. These include the following:

- Difficulty with impulse control
- Struggles with time management or task completion

- Social functioning and understanding, including difficulty making and sustaining friendships
- Developmental delays
- Behavioral concerns at home or school
- Emotional struggles, including depression and anxiety
