This is a workshop designed to help parents better understand and recognize anxiety in their children. Parents will walk away with greater knowledge about when they need to be concerned and how to support their child. Included in the registration is a take-home workbook for participants to review all of the information presented (and then some!) at their own pace and in the comfort of their own home. Feel free to contact myself or my wonderful co-presenter, Melissa Kilbride, with any questions. We hope to see you there. Register today!
Keynote: Building Community in Diverse Schools
This is an event which will bring together parents from across Washington, DC to have conversation about what is happening in their children's school(s). It is an opportunity to share stories about what is working, what is not working, and what the next steps are for building healthy, respectful, and equitable communities in diverse schools. This event will include a keynote speech by me about the importance of cultural competence for all of our children, as well as a panel of experts and breakout sessions. The event will take place at Watkins Elementary School, 420 12th St, SE on Sunday, September 30th from 2pm-4:30pm. Snacks and childcare will be provided. If you need child care, please email: [email protected]. You can also visit Integrated Schools DC on Facebook for more information. Please join us for an informative and invigorating afternoon.
